Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, sent a message congratulating the Congolese people, the Government and his counterpart Félix Tshisekedi, for the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Here is the message in full:
On behalf of the Angolan Executive and on my own behalf, I have the honor to note with great satisfaction, on this important date for the brother people of the DRC, all the efforts that Your Excellency has sought to make to promote concord, peace and understanding between all the living forces of your nation, with a view to building a basis in which principles that help to promote a broad convergence of interests that favor the promotion of progress, development and the well-being of all Congolese are in force.
We are certain that the articulation between the governments of the Republic of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, around common initiatives aimed at the political stabilization of our region of our respective countries, will make a fundamental contribution to the achievement, with guaranteed success, of cooperation and development projects capable of solidifying the pillars on which the effort to relaunch and diversify the economies of Angola and the DRC should be based, based on the immense potential of resources available to both countries.
