Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, confirmed on Thursday in Luanda, during a meeting with Cape Verdean singer Solange Cesarovna, the Executive’s commitment to promoting artistic creation and copyright.

In the meeting with the artist, recognized for her contribution to the promotion of copyright in Africa, Filipe Zau defended the need to strengthen partnerships with internationally renowned figures in the field of intellectual property.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture, the meeting, held as part of the celebrations of World Book and Copyright Day, marked on April 23, and World Intellectual Property Day, to be celebrated on Sunday, served to strengthen cooperation around the appreciation of artistic creation and the protection of intellectual property.

During the meeting, joint initiatives were discussed focusing on the empowerment of creators and the strengthening of mechanisms to safeguard copyright.

Solange Cesarovna’s role as African copyright ambassador and the first “CLIP Champion” of the “WIPO for Creators” initiative was highlighted.

CLIP is a free digital resource that provides educational content aimed at supporting musicians and creators in understanding, managing, protecting, and monetizing their rights, both in the physical and digital environments, as well as on topics of increasing relevance in the global creative industry landscape.
