Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Cuando Cubango has more than 350 vacancies available for the entry of new professionals in the health sector, which are being disputed by more than 3,100 candidates.
The provincial director of Health, Lucas Mirko Makay, told yesterday that, of the available vacancies, five are for assistant physicians, 44 for general doctors, 12 for 3rd class nurses, 150 for 3rd class technicians, 16 for 2nd class senior diagnostic and therapeutic technicians and 51 for medium diagnostic and therapeutic technicians.
He added that there are also six spots available for ambulance drivers, eight for third-class guards, 42 for third-class clinical secretaries and ten for stretcher-bearers.
According to Lucas Mirko Makay, the public tender for entry of new staff in the Health sector began on the 6th and ends next Thursday. “The process runs smoothly, despite the fact that many candidates have difficulties in submitting all the required documents”.
Mirko Makay said that the province has 1,707 employees, including doctors, nurses, diagnostic and therapeutic technicians, stretcher workers, drivers and administrative agents, distributed in 102 health units (hospitals, medical centers and health posts).
He explained that the province of Cuando Cubango needs at least more than two thousand health professionals.
Lucas Mirko Makay said that, since 2018, the province of Cuando Cubango has already benefited from three public tenders, which allowed the admission of more than 500 technicians.
Staff Training
Lucas Mirko Makay announced that several specialists are being trained to minimize the needs of many health units in the province, with emphasis on the areas of general and family medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, surgery, internal medicine and obstetrics gynecology.
He explained that at least 22 doctors had been sent to the provinces of Luanda, Benguela and HuĂla, in training, since last year.
