The participants of the IV Consultative Council of the Ministry of Education (MED) recommended, Tuesday(7), in Luanda, that Primary Teaching Schools and Technical and Polytechnic Institutes become budget units, for better functionality, taking into account taking into account the specific nature of the training provided.

This recommendation appears in the final communiqué of the IV Consultative Council of the Ministry of Education, which ended on Tuesday(7).

During the two-day meeting, participants defended the need to elevate the Municipal Education Departments to budget units and children’s centres, kindergartens and primary schools to independent bodies.

They also recommended the promotion, training and qualification of technicians in methodologies for filling in the matrix of indicators of the National Development Plan, as well as the improvement of conditions in the area of ​​statistics, for the performance of the activity of collecting, processing and disseminating data. data, through the Integrated System of School Management (SIGE).

It was also recommended to increase the number of managers and teachers, to guarantee an Inclusive Educational System at all levels, and the intensification of continuous training in terms of special and inclusive education.

They concluded that the literacy rate from 75.3 percent in 2017 increased to 76 percent in 2020/2021.

The IV Education Advisory Council reiterated the need for the Executive and partners to identify mechanisms to reinforce the funds allocated to Alphabet tization and Education of Youths and Adults, to guarantee regularity to the incentives of literacy teachers.

The reinforcement of the budget for school lunches and the improvement of the quality of its products at a national level, as well as the increase of financial and human resources in the municipalities, for the monitoring of children who attend the projects within the primary schools, are among the recommendations , which cover the intensification and dissemination of the training offer of secondary, technical-professional education institutions and the promotion of debates with companies on curricular internships.

Those present took note of the National Strategy for Environmental Education 2022-2050, whose axes are related to environmental citizenship and conscious and sustainable consumption with a focus on schools, to ensure the well-being of students.

For the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, who was speaking at the end of the IV Consultative Council of the MED, under the motto “Transforming education to overcome the challenges of school inclusion and creating resilience”, “everyone is called to contribute, according to their knowledge and experiences to improve the quality of the education system”.
