Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, appealed this Monday, in Huambo, for a positive and exemplary attitude of young people during the general elections of 24 August.

The official, was speaking during a meeting with the leaders of youth and sports associations and organizations in Huambo province, as part of a two-day working day that takes place in the Central Plateau.

He declared that the general elections are a historic and very challenging moment for the Angolan people, hence the need for the engagement of young people so that the election has the desired success.

According to the minister, young people are called upon to fulfill their role, as agents of social transformation, through an action that can promote an environment conducive to the election, avoiding behaviors that may undermine the climate of peace and harmony.

“We want to have disciplined young people, committed to the country and mobilized for this patriotic duty, participating in a massive and orderly way in the general elections on August 24th”, exhorted the minister.

Minister Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto distributed to those present at the meeting the booklet of an exemplary young man, with 30 principles, with a view to being read, assimilated and practiced inside and outside the community.

The meeting, attended by the governor of Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, and preceded by demonstrations of traditional sports practices, analyzed, among other matters, the electoral process in youth and sports associations, in addition to the challenges of the sector in the Central Plateau region.

The work agenda of the Minister of Youth and Sports reserves for today the laying of the first stone, which will mark the resumption of construction of the future Sport Huambo e Benfica “Mambroa” stadium, in the Cacilhas neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo.
