Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of JURA in Zaire (UNITA’s youth branch) urged, this Monday, in the city of Mbanza Kongo, militants, friends and supporters to flock to the polling stations on 24 August, as an active part of the democracy party.
Oliveira Manuel made this appeal during a press conference, held as part of the opening of the commemorative days of the 18th of July, the date on which 52 years ago, commander David Jonathan Chingunji “Samuimbila”.
Under the motto “JURA, unity and action for victory”, the leader said that “24th of August is a day of celebration of democracy, a moment when Angolans aspire to a better life”, stressing that it is a decision of the bright or suffering future.
“That’s why we leave the message to the youth so that on D-day they become aware and go to the polling stations”, he reaffirmed. According to the provincial secretary of JURA in Zaire, UNITA is currently carrying out several actions of mobilization and electoral civic education , with a view to the success of the party’s campaign. “A few days ago we held the opening of the pre-campaign in the municipality of Nzeto and constituted a special brigade that continued with the work until the commune of Kindege. All this to advertise our electoral program house-to-house and convince people to support our cause,” he explained.
