Sebastião Gunza, who was speaking on Friday at the closing of the Consultative Council of the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), indicated that the institution will continue to pay special attention to the public procurement process, with a view to mitigating violations against the principles of transparency and competition, on the basis of which the unlawful enrichment of managers or third parties is more frequent.
In the field of public procurement, he said, IGAE will also intensify inspections, to ensure that the goods and services received are, in fact, the same invoiced or contracted.
At the level of public companies, he added, the institution’s attention is aimed at ensuring that public administrators do not misuse and illegally use state revenues.
The inspector-general of the State Administration also spoke of the inspection and pedagogical actions promoted by the institution to raise the levels of public transparency and integrity in the country, as well as the processes of administrative deconcentration and decentralization, with a view to intensifying inspection actions to the local bodies, to purge corrupt managers from their midst.
“We will act decisively to ensure that public policies are implemented and are reflected in the lives of the populations”, declared Sebastião Gunza.
