Investigations
The Japanese police continued, this Saturday, to investigate the motives that led to the murder of the former Prime Minister.
Tetsuya Yamagami, an unemployed ex-military man suspected of the attack on Abe, told authorities that he planned the attack out of resentment towards “a specific organization”, a police official said on Friday, speaking to journalists. “And she confessed to committing the crime because she believed that former Prime Minister Abe was related to her,” he added.
In his statements to the authorities, the alleged aggressor also mentioned family problems due to the fact that his mother belongs to the same organization. In confused statements, Yamagami will have stressed, however, that he did not hold “any grudge against him (Abe) because of his political principles”.
