Africa-Press – Angola. Three hundred and thirty young people from various parts of the municipality of Chibia, 40 kilometers south of the city of Lubango, were provided with various work kits as part of the materialization of the Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability (PAPE).
For this purpose, electricity, cutting and sewing, metalwork, auto mechanics, quarrying, kitchen and pastry, hairdressing, barbering, among others, were delivered. During the closing of the training, 75 kits on agriculture, carpentry, manicure and pedicure, plumbing and auto mechanics were given to an equal number of young people.
Alberto Bartolomeu, head of the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP), in Huíla, advised the trainees to put into practice the acquired knowledge as well as to use the means provided to generate income.
He underlined that the training and the kits delivered will help to minimize the shortage of technicians in the municipality of Chibia and to solve simple concerns that previously had to be addressed in the city of Lubango.
Alberto Bartolomeu said that the training will continue in order to reach more young people. “We are committed to training young people without any occupation and providing them with the necessary means to apply theory to practice,” he said.
According to him, each beneficiary with a professional kit must be creative, in order to employ two or three people and, in this way, contribute to the reduction of unemployment that has worried a considerable number of young people.
The municipal administrator of Chibia, Sérgio da Cunha Velho, assured that some trainees will be granted professional internships in different areas, with a view to facilitating their insertion in the job market.
Therefore, “young people are, at this moment, the priority and all attention is being given to ensure that there are more and more successes in the job market”, he said, to appeal to dedication and a spirit of sacrifice in the actions to be carried out”.
Cunha Velho said that the training will continue as well as the actions to locate vulnerable young people without any profession in rural and urban areas of the municipality of Chibia and other points.
