Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, paid tribute today to the figure of the former President, José Eduardo dos Santos, with the signing of the book of condolences, in Praça da República, adjacent to the Dr. António Agostinho Neto, in Luanda.
In the book of condolences, João Lourenço wrote: “in this moment of pain and consternation, Angolans mourn President José Eduardo dos Santos, who in the most difficult moments of the country, gave himself entirely to the defense of Independence and National Sovereignty”.
“We see ourselves and honor his memory by defending and perpetuating his greatest work, peace and National Reconciliation”, underlined the Head of State.
Finally, João Lourenço expressed his deepest feelings of sorrow to the family.
Subsequently, the president of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Judges of the Superior Courts, Ministers of State, Holders of the Executive Power, among other personalities, also signed the book of condolences.
