Africa-Press – Angola. The movement of people and goods from the municipality of Cacuaco to other areas of the province of Luanda was made easier with the reception of articulated buses.
The buses have been arriving on time for approximately three months and there are no longer many people at the main stops in the village, where previously there were several people bound for the municipality of Viana, Baixa de Luanda, Porto or Sequele.
In a round carried out by our reporting team, the decrease in flooding at several stops and the satisfaction of the population that uses buses to travel to work or solve problems in various parts of the province of Luanda was notable.
Citizens heard were unanimous in stating that, with the reinforcement of the fleet, it became more economical and comfortable to move to different directions of Luanda.
Belinha Antónia, cleaning assistant, said that it was no longer an ordeal to get to her place of work. She stressed that, previously, she had to leave the house at 5 am to be able to catch the first bus that leaves the village of Cacuaco for Sequele.
“Currently, with the new fleet, I have time to prepare my children and arrive early at my place of work, without constraints”, he said, highlighting the decrease in expenses, since before he had to resort to taxis, which charge 150 Kz until departure . entrance to the city, and then take another one to Sequele.
Manuel António, a civil servant, who runs the Sambizanga/-Cacuaco route daily, paying 300 Kz per ride, said that he spent 600 kwanzas every day and, today, prefers to travel by bus, without major constraints, to work or return home, around 4 pm, spending only 100 Kz.
He regretted the fact that some passengers showed inappropriate behavior in front of the established stops, non-compliance with the queues and causing a certain amount of disorder and public unrest. He defended the presence of the National Police at the stops, to maintain order.
Margarida João, 17 years old, a student at the second cycle of secondary education in the city of Sequele, residing in the village of Cacuaco, highlighted the efforts of the Provincial Government in solving the main problems that afflict the population, in the most varied areas, particularly in the area of public transport.
The municipal director of Traffic and Mobility, Júlio Azevedo, said that the municipality provides 75 buses daily to transport passengers.
According to Júlio Azevedo, in addition to the 17 articulated buses recently received, others are expected to come into circulation in the near future, in order to create new routes and improve circulation in the municipality.
He added that the internal circulation program will allow a bus to leave the Mercado do Sabadão, pass through the Funda commune road to Mayé-Mayé and continue to the city of Sequele.
The municipality of Cacuaco has four public transport operators, namely TCUL, ANGOAUSTRAL, ANGOREAL and STRONGUE, distributed along the routes Cacuaco/Porto, Cacua-co/S.Paulo, Cacuaco/Funda, Cacuaco/ Panguila, as well as Cacuaco/ Baleizão, Cacuaco/Viana, Cacuaco/ Sequele and Cacuaco/Zango 0.
Júlio Azevedo appealed to the population to avoid vandalizing buses and to denounce those who try to do so.
