Africa-Press – Angola. The Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Program (PRODESI) recorded, in the week from the 6th to the 11th, a disbursement of five billion kwanzas for 123 approved projects, which were awaiting financing at the bank.
The data were released, on Tuesday, in Luanda, in the usual weekly “briefing” of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), in the field of Economy, by the national director for Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation.
Joffrana Xavier highlighted that through the Structured Credit Support Service (PAC), with the Presidential Decree 94/22 of April, to date, 647 projects have been accepted with an estimated financing value of around 25 billion kwanzas , of which 123 have already benefited from effective disbursement, according to the values indicated above.
These projects with amounts already disbursed are distributed across the different provinces, with Luanda leading with a total of 56 disbursed projects, followed by Bengo with 13, Benguela with 10, Huíla with nine, Namibe with seven, Bié with five, Cunene, Cuanza- Sul and Huambo with four projects each, Ma-lanje with three, and Uíge and Cu anza-Norte with two projects, respectively.
The provinces that have benefited the least from disbursements, so far, are Cabinda, Lunda-Sul, Moxico and Cuando Cubango, with only one project approved each.
On the other hand, as regards the sectors of activity with the greatest predominance in disbursements, Joffrana Xavier highlighted that, in the 123 projects, Trade and Distribution Operators (OCD) lead with 37 projects, followed by Agriculture with 35 and Fisheries with 14. the Manufacturing and Livestock sectors with 12, Solid Waste with eight and Tourism with five projects disbursed.
Overall, with regard to public investments in support of PRODESI, since its implementation, 1,715 projects have already been approved and financed. The programs in question were supported by the Economic Relief, with a total of 528 projects approved, via Notice 10/22 of the National Bank of Angola (BNA) with 377 projects approved, by the Restructured Credit Support Program (PAC) with 647 projects and Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA) with 142 projects approved.
Intern market
In the field of access to the Internal Market, the sector registered the signing of 669 Future Purchase Agreements, which exceed one billion kwanzas. These contracts are the result of economic activities carried out by the 18 provinces of the country and of various financial instruments approved within the scope of PRODESI, namely in the PAC domain, through the holding of National Production Fairs, among others.
The contracts in question were signed in the various provinces of the country, with emphasis on Uíge with a record of 118 contracts, followed by Cuanza-Sul with 89, Cuando Cubango with 73, Bié with 61, Luanda with 58, Benguela with 48, Malanje with 38, Lunda-Norte with 33, Lunda-Sul with 31, Bengo with 21, Cabinda with 18, Cunene with 17, Huambo with 15, Cuanza-Norte with 12, Moxico with 10 and Zaire with four contracts, respectively.
The national director for Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation, Joffrana Xavier, highlighted that the provinces that registered the lowest number of Future Purchase Contracts were Huíla and Namibe, both with only two contracts.
In the field of fairs, compared to the previous week, there were four more exchanges of production of national goods and services, two of which took place in the province of Huíla; one in the municipality of Jamba with the Cassava Fair, and in the municipality of Chipindo with the Feira do Drainage of Opportunities.
The other fairs took place in the province of Uíge, the host municipality with the holding of “Expo Uíge”, and one held in the province of Zaire, in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo.
