Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 436 reports of violence against children were received, from the 4th to the 8th of this month, across the country, through the “SOS–Criança” reporting service, which serves terminal 15015, of the Instituto Nacional da Criança (National Institute for Children). INAC).

Of the calls received, 203 are related to physical and psychological violence, 111 are related to paternity flight and custody disputes, four are sexual abuse, three are related to child labor and 62 are related to information on the operation of the SOS-Child line. Regarding the provinces with the most registered cases, according to INAC, an organization linked to the Ministry of Social Action, Family and the Promotion of Women (MASFAMU), Bié, Bengo, Cabinda, Cunene, Cuanza-Sul, Luanda, Lunda-Sul, Huila, Huambo, Malanje, Namibe and Zaire.

For Lubango, Huíla province, a case was registered, which involved several male children, aged between nine and 13, who were used as tools for child labour. The matter was referred to the Municipal Directorate of Social Action for investigation of the complaint.

In the country’s capital, in the municipalities of Luanda and Cazenga, there were cases of three children aged between six and 14 years old, who were instrumentalized in the practice of street vending, actions carried out by their parents.

In the municipalities of Viana and Cazenga, there were reports of minors (aged five and seven) sexually abused by a neighbor, who is on the run.

In Huambo province, the SOS-Criança service registered a case of a nine-year-old minor sexually abused by a 20-year-old neighbor, and the accused is already in detention.
