Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA vice-president said yesterday in Uíge that the political moment demands that efforts be worked on mobilizing the population to come to the polls, with civility, and thus guarantee the party’s victory in the August General Elections.
Luísa Damião addressed the party’s militants, friends and sympathizers, in a political act, after inaugurating the headquarters of the MPLA Provincial Committee. At the event, there was a minute of silence in memory of the president emeritus of the MPLA, José Eduardo dos Santos, who died on the eighth of this month, in Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain.
For Luísa Damião, activists need to work hard, but they must also be united in this task, to mobilize the population, so that they participate massively in the electoral process, going to the polls on voting day. For, she continued, “only in this way will we achieve resounding victory.”
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the party’s provincial headquarters in Uíge. “A wonderful work, which will certainly dignify the party and its cadres who, daily, work for the greatness of the MPLA”, emphasized the party leader.
Appeals To Order And Civility
The MPLA vice-president urged the party’s militants to observe the noblest values of coexistence among Angolans during the electoral campaign phase. “In a few days, we will enter the electoral campaign phase, a moment that should be used to demonstrate civility, order, healthy coexistence and fraternization”, stressed Luísa Damião.
Members of the MPLA Political Bureau accompanied the MPLA vice-president to Uíge, including Secretary-General Paulo Pombolo. The delegation guided a meeting to prepare the next mass events, which will take place in the province, as part of the electoral campaign.
Pre-Campaign In Andulo
The MPLA vice-president is currently working in the municipality of Andulo, province of Bié, where, in addition to holding a meeting with militants, sympathizers and friends of the party, she inaugurates the Municipal Committee of the party organisation.
Luísa Damião, before going to Andulo, will analyze, in a meeting with the party’s provincial secretary, Pereira Alfredo, the political, organizational and functional situation of the MPLA in Bié. The inauguration of the Municipal Committee of Andulo results from the dynamics undertaken by the central structure of the party, which put in motion a strategy of organization and training of cadres.
The first MPLA municipal secretary in Andulo, Celeste Adolfo, said that the visit of vice-president Luísa Damião is full of great symbolism for the militants, especially at a time when the start of the electoral campaign is approaching, in which the comrades is working to achieve a significant victory.
Luísa Damião will present the electoral manifesto to militants, sympathizers and friends of the MPLA, in particular, and to civil society, in general. The municipal secretary of the comrades’ party in Andulo, Celeste Adolfo, said that they are going to intensify the actions to publicize the MPLA’s lines of force, taking into account the General Elections of 24 August.
