Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy to the National Assembly, Miguel Nzau Puna, who died on the 17th of this month, in Luanda, was buried in the Mbuco Mbuadi cemetery, in Cabinda.

The funeral ceremony, which took place in the Barão Puna sports hall, in the Buco Ngoio neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Cabinda, was marked by the reading of several messages, with emphasis on the National Assembly, Ministry of Defense and Veterans of the Homeland, Government of the Province of Cabinda, MPLA and Family, all portraying, in a general way, the political trajectory and the contribution made to the Nation by the nationalist Miguel Maria Nzau Puna.

Politicians, deputies, members of the Government, family and friends accompanied, on Saturday, the funeral procession, which was preceded by the funeral mass, held at Nossa Senhora Rainha do Mundo Church, to the Mbuco Mbuadi cemetery, where illustrious figures of the “Puna” lineage, with emphasis on the first king of Cabinda, Baron Puna, from whom the ill-fated deputy was descended.

The first vice-president of the National Assembly, Emília Carlota Dias, distinguished the deceased as a nationalist and convinced patriot who enshrined and believed in the values ​​and principles of freedom, democracy, a culture of peace and good work. “He was a valiant fighter of the National Liberation Struggle, who always valued the preservation of peace and national reconciliation.”

Deputy Julião Mateus Paulo said that the death of Miguel Nzau Puna represents a great loss for the country. “Miguel Nzau Puna was a cadre, a revolutionary leader and a convinced nationalist, who throughout his youth, and until the date of his death, gave himself body and soul to the cause of the Nation”.

Another political figure who attended the funeral was deputy Joaquina Nafoia, who at the time considered the late Nzau Puna a huge loss, not only for his family, but also for the country, which has seen one of its nationalists of great virtues leave.
