Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State, João Lourenço, highlighted the courage and bravery of the Cuban people in a letter on the occasion of the commemoration of the 69th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks, marked this Tuesday, 26 July.
In the message, João Lourenço emphasizes “the courage, bravery, determination and tradition of resistance of the heroic people of Cuba, who, by making enormous sacrifices in favor of justice, freedom and sovereignty of their Country and that of other Peoples of the world, left a moral legacy and a revolutionary conscience that continues to inspire new generations of leadership to this day”.
As a way of paying tribute to the historic ties between both countries, the Angolan statesman reaffirmed the Angolan Government’s commitment to be “always committed to increasingly exploring the existing bilateral cooperation framework with the Republic of Cuba”, as well as “elevating it to levels that correspond to the real potential we have, with reciprocal advantages that satisfy the aspirations of our two peoples”.
The President of the Republic also wished his counterpart, Miguel Bermúdez, “best wishes for good health, personal well-being, and prosperity for the Cuban people.”
