FNLA prioritizes actions in the Agriculture sector

Africa-Press – Angola. The government program of the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA), for the next five years, is based on four fundamental pillars, among which Agriculture.

The announcement was made yesterday, in Luanda, at a press conference, by the president of the FNLA, Nimi A Simbi, who aimed to publicize the government program of this political formation, for the elections on 24 August.

“The FNLA advocates placing Agriculture as the mainstay of the program, since it will be this primary sector of the economy that will solve the problems of hunger and unemployment”, said Nimi A Simbi.

According to the president of the “brothers” party, with this vision, the FNLA defines as its motto “Develop Agriculture to end hunger and violence and reorganize Education and Health to ensure the future”.

To achieve this objective, according to Nimi A Simbi, the highest percentage of the General State Budget will be allocated to Agriculture. A second axis defined by the FNLA has to do with the Defense and Promotion of Health.

For this, the basic health network will have to be restructured, with the construction of municipal hospitals, where they do not exist, the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the existing ones. The governance program plans to significantly improve maternal and child care and provide health centers on the outskirts of cities and rural areas.

It also provides for the reinforcement of basic sanitation as prophylaxis in the fight against endemic diseases, the review of the Medical Board system abroad, as well as the strengthening of awareness and the fight against trypanosomiasis.

In the view of the FNLA, the national pharmacopeia must be strengthened, associating traditional therapists, as well as the promotion of the national drug production industry.

On the educational side, the leader of the historic party founded in 1954 said that they will be one of the cardinal concerns, as the country cries out for quality education.

Thus, a system for the attribution of internal scholarships will be gradually implemented for all students enrolled in higher education. The university professor also assured that the FNLA will reform the education system, according to universal parameters, and adapt it to social demands, not forgetting the dignification of the teaching profession.

As for Public Security, Simbi said that the social peace of the people requires the Government to create conditions to combat or eliminate crime in all aspects.
