Africa-Press – Angola. The candidate for President of the Republic by CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, travels today to the province of Bengo, where he directs a political act as part of the electoral campaign, after having been in Malanje on Tuesday.

The secretary for Information and Marketing of CASA-CE, João Nazaré, told that the objective of Manuel Fernandes’ trip to Bengo is to attract the undecided to the coalition’s electoral programme.

João Nazaré also informed that, after Bengo, the caravan of the CASA-CE candidate will travel to the province of Uíge, where he will be “hunting for votes”, tomorrow and Saturday.

The Presidential College (the top management body) of CASA-CE met yesterday in Luanda to take stock of the beginning of the campaign. The balance, according to João Nazaré, is positive, “which increases the expectation” of the coalition in relation to the results on August 24. The coalition’s motto during the campaign is “House, work and fair salary”.

CASA-CE participated, for the first time, in elections, in 2012, and managed to elect eight deputies to the National Assembly. In the last elections, representation in Parliament increased, doubling the number of deputies to 16, despite the fact that the group was split in half, following the removal of the then founding leader, Abel Chivukuvuku, in February 2019.

Succeeding André Mendes de Carvalho, who, in turn, had succeeded Chivukuvuku, Manuel Fernandes promised to revitalize CASA-CE and put it on the level left by the first leader.
