Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Portugal, Carlos Alberto Fonseca, undid, yesterday, in Carcavelos, outskirts of Lisbon, the idea of the existence of an atmosphere of tension between the different parties that compete for the General Elections of 24 August.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the Eurafrica Forum, which ends today, Ambassador Carlos Alberto Fonseca stressed that “there may be a more exalted mood at a moment, but then everything falls into reality”. “It is not the first electoral process that we have carried out. It is the fifth, naturally, the campaign environment implies that a party can say things that irritate, but everything returns to normal”, he said, adding that later it ends up running within the parameters.
Asked about the impact and the possible possibility of causing instability in the elections, due to the alleged tension between the former President’s family and the Executive, Ambassador Carlos Alberto Fonseca said he did not believe that it could affect the process.
“There are issues that are important. However, there is no relationship between the two cases”, argued Carlos Fonseca.
Eurafrica, which ends today with the presence of President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is a forum that brings together government officials, politicians, businessmen and specialists involved in the process of bringing the African and European continents together.
