Africa-Press – Angola. A message from the Head of State, João Lourenço, to his Kenyan counterpart to strengthen existing bilateral cooperation ties between the two Governments, with a focus on the political-diplomatic and socio-economic aspects, was delivered this Saturday, at the Presidential Palace in Nairobi.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that, following the tour that the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, is carrying out through some African countries, on the morning of Saturday, 30 July, it delivered a message from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta.

The occasion served for the two individuals to address issues of common interest concerning the continent, including within the scope of the Angolan Statesman’s agenda, as Champion for Peace and Reconciliation of the African Union and mediator of the political crisis between the DRC and Rwanda, mandated by the Summit of Malabo.

The audience that Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya, granted to the head of Angolan diplomacy was attended by Ambassador Miguel César Domingos Bembe, Africa, Middle East and Regional Organizations director, and by Syanga Abílio, Angolan ambassador to Kenya and representative of the country. with the United Nations Office, in addition to Francisco José da Cruz, Angola’s ambassador to Ethiopia and with the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (CEA).

Kenya has an economy based on Tourism and Agriculture, sectors that are of interest to Angola, which has great potential due to the abundance of natural resources and seeks to diversify an economy that is too dependent on oil.
