Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA analyzed, on Friday (26), in Luanda, its performance in the General Elections of 24 August, where it won its fifth victory, with 51.07 percent of the votes cast, in a meeting guided by the party’s president, João Lourenço. .
The MPLA’s Secretary for Information and Propaganda, Rui Falcão, assured that leader João Lourenço reacted to the results with satisfaction, as he achieved an absolute majority, and that he will speak after the presentation of the final results by the National Electoral Commission.
Rui Falcão added that the absolute majority allows the MPLA to continue to govern, without it being necessary to make any pact, despite admitting to dialogue with the other parties, as he has always done, at times such as the occasional revision of the Constitution of the Republic.
