Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security announced today that the new normal operating period for public service bodies and services is from 8 am to 3 pm.

The application of the schedule that goes from 8 am to 3 pm will be immediately applicable, from Monday to Friday, on a continuous schedule, without prejudice to special hours, such as shift work, by rotation, between others.

The communiqué also includes that “the working hours of civil servants and administrative agents coincide with the period of operation of the respective bodies, bodies and services, and those responsible for legal entities must provide their employees with a rest period for a meal at least 45 minutes, without prejudice to permanent assistance to citizens”.

In addition, “the specificities of the Provinces in which the geographical, climatic and working conditions justify it at the beginning as well as at the end of the period of operation are safeguarded, and they must have a different regime from the regime provided for in number 1 of article 57 of the aforementioned Diploma “.

The new normal period of operation of the Civil Service Bodies and Services corresponds to “35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, in accordance with articles 56 and 59 of the aforementioned Diploma” and will be governed, in the light of Law no. 26/22, of 22 August – Basic Law for the Civil Service, which was entered at the time of its publication in the Diário da República.

The application of this measure will take into account “all the bodies and services of the Public Administration, as well as the bodies and institutions that are under the organic and functional dependence of the President of the Republic, the National Assembly, the Courts, the Attorney General’s Office, the Ombudsman of Justice, Defense and Security Bodies and Internal Order, with the adaptations resulting from their Organic Statutes, as well as other entities whose specific legislation does not exclude the application of this law”.
