Africa-Press – Angola. The price variation of basic food basket products from the fourth to the fifth week of August registered a reduction of 0.01 percent. According to a survey, in commercial establishments, the price variation of basic food products from the fourth to the fifth week of August registered a slight increase of 0.12 percent.
The products that contributed to this slight increase in prices were beef with 1.85 percent, pasta with spaghetti with 1.67 percent and horse mackerel with 0.72 percent.
On the other hand, the biggest price reductions were registered in yellow cornmeal products with 1.92 percent, bombó fuba with 1.70 percent and tomato with 1.56 percent. In the period in question, the largest price reductions were observed in Shoprite supermarkets with 1.11 percent, Africana Discount with 0.98 percent and Deskontão with 0.93 percent, on the other hand, the largest price changes recorded Kero with 2.64 percent, Intermarket with 2.12 percent and Kibabo with 0.46 percent.
The prices of basic basket products in the informal markets from the fourth to the fifth week of August registered a reduction of 0.16 percent. The products that most contributed to this reduction were beef with 2.01 percent and chicken thighs with 1.05 percent.
The smallest price variations in the period in question were recorded in the Kwanza markets with 0.87 percent and Km30 with 0.71 percent. On the other hand, price increases were observed at Kifica with 0.34 percent and Asa Branca with 0.18 percent, respectively.
