Africa-Press – Angola. A more effective participation of citizens in the development of Malanje, in the next five years, is what the MPLA’s first provincial secretary, Norberto dos Santos “Kwata Kanawa” expects.
Speaking at the end of a march commemorating the MPLA’s victory in the August 24 General Elections, the party leader said that there are “enormous challenges” in the new governance cycle (2022-2027).
After thanking the Angolans who voted for the MPLA, Norberto dos Santos, quoted by Angop, said that the party respects the will of those who chose other political formations.
In Malanje, the MPLA won in the General Elections three of the five deputies in dispute and the other two are from UNITA.
On the other hand, the second secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Adérito Chimuco, yesterday called for greater supervision of militants in the implementation of the party’s governance program for the period 2022-2027.
Speaking at the commemoration of the party’s victory in the recent General Elections, the politician said that militants and the population needed to demand compliance with the program adopted at the polls, as the prospect “is to improve the socio-economic conditions” of all Angolans.
He underlined that each militant must play his or her role and help the Government to improve the population’s living conditions and provide a quality service, adding that the MPLA is committed to continuing to work for the construction of a Nation where all Angolans can live with dignity.
