Josef Cavet, who was speaking at the provincial act on National Independence Day, said that because the people of Namibia consider the Angolans as a brother country, the result of this great achievement and the bilateral solidarity shown in welcoming Namibians since the periods of illegal occupation by the South African racist forces.

He stressed that the populations of Cuando Cubango and North Namibia, residing along the border, should continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties, with a view to making crossing passes more flexible to facilitate movement between the bordering areas of the two countries.

He underlined that, despite the economic crisis conditioned by Covid-19, since January to date, trade has improved, so he said that it is necessary to work to end the bureaucracy in circulation from one side to the other as quickly as possible. .

For his part, the governor of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, reaffirmed that the entire balance of the 47 years of Independence should not be forgotten or invoked the armed conflict that had several implications for the development of the human social fabric in the country.

During the provincial act on the 47th anniversary of Independence, he said that, despite some benefits achieved to date, the Executive continues to pay special attention to various sectors, with emphasis on the construction of more than 270 schools, hundreds of health units and 560 kilometers of paved roads.

José Martins said that in order to reverse the situation, in recent years, the Executive has approved several programs that are being implemented, highlighting the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) with a portfolio of 76 projects.
