Africa-Press – Angola. “Material and Intangible Heritage related to Agostinho Neto – A critical view” is the theme of a round table to be held, today, at 10:00 am, in the amphitheater of the National Archive of Angola, in Camama, municipality of Talatona, in Luanda.
An initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the round table will have as speakers Emanuel Coboco, deputy director general of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, Álvaro Jorge, director general of the National Museum of Anthropology, and Francisco Makiesse, deputy director general of Memorial Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto.
The director of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, Cecília Gourgel, told Jornal de Angola yesterday that the round table, included in the program of the 3rd edition of the National Culture Festival (FENACULT), aims to talk about the collection left by the Founder da Nação, a man of culture who greatly contributed to the development of the country, in the literary field, with classic works, among which “Renúncia Impossível” and “Sagrada Esperança” stand out.
Cecília Gourgel stressed that the purpose of the activity is to bring the legacy of Agostinho Neto to future generations and “perpetuate the achievements of the First of the Republic of Angola, who not only fought for the freedom of Angolans, but was also an important figure for the development African countries, in particular those of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP)”.
The FENACULT program – centenary special – extends until the end of the month, with several activities planned, of which the conference on “Neto’s poetry and its Context: Timeless Dialogues” stands out, on Friday , at 9:00 am, at the Independent University, in Luanda, the colloquia on “National Archive, Protection of intellectual property through the system of copyright and related rights in Angola”, on the 24th, and The Archives on Agostinho Neto: Dimension and Challenges”, on the 28th both, at 9:00 am, at the National Archive of Angola.
