Africa-Press – Angola. The Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP) reiterated, in Luanda, its commitment to deepen and strengthen economic, political, social and cultural relations between its members in the areas of trade, science and technology, industry, transport and communications, education, training and research, information and communication, the environment, demography and human resources.
According to the “Declaration of Luanda” approved, Friday, at the end of the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OEACP, the members undertake to promote ways of transforming the national food systems that facilitate the production sustainable and locally driven delivery of local foods and diets to help smallholders (our farmers and fishermen) build their resilience to food insecure drivers.
“We call on bilateral and multilateral partners to support food insecure countries to address current and future challenges, including by building sustainable and resilient food systems, supporting livelihood activities and providing emergency assistance to affected communities”, it reads in the document.
