Africa-Press – Angola. Expo Feito em Angola will now be held annually, in order to serve as a specialized business space for promoting national production and, consequently, reducing the unemployment rate in Angola, said yesterday the Secretary of State for Planning , Milton Reis.
Milton Reis made these statements at the closing ceremony of the 1st edition of “Expo Feito Em Angola”, which took place from 7 to 11 December, in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in Viana.
On the occasion, the Secretary of State considered the initiative, which had the participation of 150 national exhibitors, innovative, as it allowed commercial exchange and the dissemination of products and services by micro, small and medium-sized national companies.
“It is a risky and necessary initiative for business in the country, as the time has come for national production to assume its role in the growth of the national economy”, he underlined.
According to the official,
although the country still has a great need for imports for national consumption, with this EFA it was possible to see that in a short time the picture will change, with the growth of local production.
He stated that at this fair it was possible to see national exhibitors displaying various services and products made in Angola, in the fields of health, banking, energy, water, commerce, textiles, food, furniture, metalworking, communication and marketing.
This finding, for the Secretary of State, constitutes a clear sign of the advancement and growth of domestic production in the country.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), the Made in Angola service foresees, by the end of 2023, attributing 1,000 seals to products produced in Angola, joining the 200 companies that already have this certification to National level.
To be awarded the Made in Angola seal, companies’ products need to have 35% national material.
In the last six months, the Angolan government has already financed 1,500 companies, and hopes to increase this number in 2023, as it has more than 40 billion kwanzas available for this purpose.
The first edition of Expo Feiro in Angola, held from the 7th to the 11th of this month, at the Special Economic Zone – Luanda/ Bengo, served to present the potential of national production, ranging from agribusiness, catering, construction, industry, energy , Oil and Gas.
