Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, Thursday encouraged Angolan creators and inventors to continue with research work in favor of the country’s development.

Yesterdasy Esperança da Costa held a meeting with the Angolan delegation that won 14 medals, three gold, two silver and nine bronze, at the 2022 edition of the Ideas, Inventions and New Products Fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

At the end of the audience, the coordinator of the Angolan participation in the International Fair of Ideas and Innovations (IENA), Padoca Calado, said it was an incentive for creators to improve the “extremely positive” results achieved.

He said that the vice-president of the Republic promised to support the inventions of creators and inventors from Angola, the only African who has participated in the IENA fair since 2009, alongside representatives of countries such as the USA and China.

According to Padoca Calado, these are inventions developed by young people, with a “very strong” social impact, which can help the population and the country, some of which are already operating in Namibe in assessing soil quality.

Inventor Ana Martins, also a student at Universidade Agostinho Neto, said she had taken three projects, one on reporting domestic violence, one on finding donors of a certain blood group and another on guidance on the right taxi to take.

Bernardo Caritoco said that he had presented a project for producing organic fertilizer and combating the pest, from rubbish, which is already being applied in Cunene, with an impact on environmental protection, avoiding the use of chemical fertilizers.

The Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugénio da Silva, admitted the possibility of rethinking support for inventors, as well as mobilizing sponsorships to reinforce support from the Executive.

Eugénio da Silva informed that the possibility of creating a “task force” for future and dignified participation in exhibitions and the due support for the continuity of his projects with the involvement of entities and companies interested in the projects had been considered.

Among the award-winning projects, the permanent air purifier in schools and offices and the intelligent traffic light with holographic projection also stand out.
