Africa-Press – Angola. The Democratic Block has a new Cunene provincial secretary, elected Sunday, in Ondjiva, during the party organization’s first extraordinary assembly.

It is Moisés José Pacheco, elected with a significant majority between two other candidates, in an act that was attended by the president of the party and militants from the six municipalities of the province.

Moisés Pacheco said he is prepared to respond to the party’s challenges in the province over the next four years, where the priority is to expand the base of militants in all municipalities.

The president of the Democratic Block, Filomeno Vieira Lopes, said that the party needs to develop greater speed in Cunene province in the organizational aspect, in order to better carry out the main objective of helping to improve the quality of life of the local population.

Filomeno Lopes appealed to newly elected members of the party for greater responsibility to continue building training, mobilizing all cadres. The meeting also served to elect the Provincial Secretariat of the party and assess the reports of the municipal assemblies of Cuvelai, Namacunde and Cuanhama.
