Luís Nunes asked for the same posture of the staff demonstrated during the elections, which must be carried out on a day-to-day basis, since the safety of the population and the collective heritage is a task that is imposed on everyone, but ultimately It is a legal obligation of the National Police.

He argued that police training should be increasingly demanding, in the sense of having a police force that is increasingly committed to society, defending democratic legality and guaranteeing citizens’ rights and freedoms.

He urged, on the other hand, the permanent observance of humanism, respect for the law and human dignity, insofar as the police are a protective and inclusive force, which must deserve the respect and trust of the communities.

The ruler recognized that the police mission is complex and requires bravery, operability and discipline.

On the occasion, Luís Nunes also highlighted the work of technicians from INEMA and the Civil Protection and Fire Brigade who, although they are not public security forces, nevertheless play a role of capital importance in protecting citizens and supporting communities, in terms of first aid and in the defense of good life.
