Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Francisco Queiroz, yesterday, in Luanda, considered the book “Human Rights in Angola” an important instrument for the sector he directs, insofar as it will make the Angolan State’s vision of the subject is widespread.
This collection of scientific articles on Human Rights in Angola is mainly signed by Angolan academics and was launched in Luanda.
“It is not enough to have a National Human Rights Strategy. It is necessary that this translates, in fact, into the permanent defense and dissemination of Human Rights, through education and training. And this is an important vehicle for education and training”, he highlighted. Francisco Queiroz.
He mentioned that the great challenge of the National Human Rights Strategy is not just the existence of a public policy instrument on the subject, but, above all, the practice of Human Rights.
On the occasion, Francisco Queiroz, who also contributed two articles to the book, signed some copies. The assistant ombudsman, Aguinaldo Cristóvão, also signed an article in this work, who said that he addressed, in his article, the issue related to minorities in the Angolan legal system.
The book launch ceremony, an initiative of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Angola, was attended by several members of the Executive.
The themes contained in the book address a set of scientific research that revolves around the National Human Rights Strategy (ENDH), allowing greater familiarization with its main axes, the achievement of national majority in Human Rights and the elevation of Human Rights to the national security issue.
The book also aims to contribute to theorization, from a scientific perspective of the main themes addressed in the ENDH, to establish a didactic exercise of generalization of knowledge based on the national vision of public management of Human Rights within the scope of the ENDH.
