Africa-Press – Angola. Problems related to lack of sponsorship, which often make transport to other provinces difficult, could lead to Sporting de Cabinda withdrawing from Girabola, announced Sunday in Lubango, its football manager, Hélder Filipe.

Due to financial difficulties, the team has been forced to travel at the limit, leaving even athletes on the ground, as happened on the trip to Lubango, in which they had only five players on the bench.

Speaking to the press at the end of the game in which he lost by 2-1 to Desportivo da Huíla, Hélder Filipe admitted that in addition to the lack of money to pay transport expenses, given the geographical characteristics of the province, there are also many months in which does not pay wages, in addition to the lack of decent accommodation.

He made it known that the group lives on promises from the local authorities, but so far nothing has been done, requesting greater intervention from the business class, from natural and legal persons, to prevent the province from running out of Girabola games.

“The provincial government is aware of our difficulties, we are fighting to overcome this very difficult moment, but if there are no alternatives, we will even announce the withdrawal”, he said.

In the present Girabola there is already a withdrawal, Cuando Cubango FC, who announced the withdrawal before the start of the second round, having therefore been punished with two years of suspension by the Angolan Football Federation (FAF).

The Enclave team is on the waterline, occupying 14th place with 13 points, out of a possible 51.
