Africa-Press – Angola. Two hundred million dollars is the annual value of the volume of business carried out between Angola and Argentina, revealed this Monday, in Caxito, Bengo province, the Argentine ambassador to the country, Alejandro Verdier.

The diplomat, who made a working visit to Bengo province, referred that the main area of Argentine investment in the country is agriculture.

Alejandro Verdier demonstrated that Argentina is interested in investing in the Free Development Zone of Barra do Dande (Bengo).

By the way, he revealed that the installation of the Argentine company Arcor (specialized in the elaboration of food products) in 2022, in the economic zone of Viana, aroused the interest of other companies to invest in Angola.

He highlighted Bengo’s tourist potential, especially Barra do Dande, which has investment potential that needs greater publicity.

During his stay in the region, the diplomat visited the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Bengo which, in his opinion, has a lot of potential that Angola needs for training young people in agribusiness, an area in which Argentina could cooperate.

“We have a lot to do together, not just in agribusiness, but also in education. In Argentina, public universities are also free for foreigners, we have many Angolans graduating there, but we hope to have many more,” he underlined.

The governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, stressed that Bengo is an eminently agricultural province that already produces a lot and has to advance towards industrialization.

Argentina, on the other hand, is an efficient power in technology and innovation that can help the country in that sense, he pointed out.

In addition to the visit to the Higher Pedagogical School, the Argentine ambassador, Alejandro Verdier, held a meeting with the governor, Maria Antónia Nelumba, and visited the Angolaves company.

The Escola Superior Pedagogica has 2,200 students enrolled this academic year, while the company Angolaves produces 90,000 eggs daily.
