Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Lunda Norte, Deolinda Satula Vilarinho, recognized, this Monday, the “urgent” need to create recreational infrastructures to stimulate the cultural and sporting potential of the province.

Speaking at a meeting between the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, and leaders of youth organizations and presidents of sports associations, Deolinda Vilarinho promised that the local government will continue to make joint efforts with related bodies to create cultural and sports centers in the province.

“Lunda Norte lacks recreational infrastructure to stimulate and promote sport and culture, such as, for example, a Youth House and multi-sports courts”, she stressed.

She added that sport and culture create feelings of coexistence that overcome ethnic and social barriers, hence the attention that must be given to the sectors, with the creation of the necessary conditions to stimulate the cultural and sporting creativity of young people.

On the other hand, he said that professional training, encouraging entrepreneurship and promoting employment are the main challenges for the local government.

He appealed to young people to refrain from practices that jeopardize social peace, such as acts of vandalism, riots and disrespect for sovereign bodies and public institutions.

The Minister of Youth and Sports is, since Monday morning, in Lunda Norte, with the aim of learning about the existing sports infrastructures in the province.
