Africa-Press – Angola. Four members of the Ministry of the Interior (two agents from the National Police and an equal number from the Civil Protection Service and Huíla Firefighters carried out, on Wednesday, acts of fighting, in Lubango, after a disagreement on the public road.
The information is expressed in the press note from the provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior of Huíla, which arrived, Thursday, to clarify that the case in the Tchioco neighbourhood, when the police agents went to a place to intervene in a case of offenses to physical integrity.
According to the note, at 4 pm, the Police received a request to intervene in a case at a residence in the Tchioco neighborhood and, when heading to the place of occurrence, a patrol car came across a vehicle, uncharacterized, transporting troops. firefighters to leave through the point that gives access to the neighborhood where the complaint came from.
According to the note, seeing themselves prevented from passing and given the urgency of responding to the request, the Police staff requested that the other vehicle retreat, but they were not successful, thus generating a misunderstanding that resulted in mutual aggression between the two teams.
During the events, a nearby police patrol ended up putting an end to the confusion and took those involved to the police station in the area, where they were heard and, due to the seriousness of the situation, a disciplinary process was opened to determine the responsibilities of each one and determine the applicable sanctions.
The delegation, the note reads, regrets and disapproves of what happened and apologizes to the Huila community for what happened, carried out by staff who have the institutional responsibility of guaranteeing order and preserving public peace.
The delegation of the Ministry of the Interior of Huíla reiterated its commitment to guaranteeing order and tranquility, appealing to citizens to always opt for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
