Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the Eastern Military Region (RML), David Manuel Cavand, in Luau, appealed to the need for the local staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to strive for greater organisation, discipline and readiness.

Speaking to the press, at the end of the 48-hour working visit he made to the 62nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, stationed in the municipality of Luau, he said that discipline and organization are essential virtues for achieving the goals set.

“The visit is part of the plan outlined to verify the state of the troop in the most distant units of the Command Post. We are on the right track”, assured the lieutenant general.

In Luau, a municipality 334 kilometers from Luena, David Manuel Cavanda noted the state of operational, combative and educational-patriotic preparedness of the troops of the 62nd Motorized Infantry Brigade.

Before going to the Unit of the 62nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, David Cavanda held a meeting with the municipal administrator, Filomena Miza, with whom he discussed border security issues.

The commander of the Eastern Military Region (RML) is on a tour that will take him, in the next few days, with the same objective, to the border municipality of Alto Zambeze, which is 519 kilometers from Luena , where the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade is stationed.

The “script” included a visit to the Command of the 3rd Division of the RML, in the province of Lunda Sul. The Eastern Military Region is also made up of the province of Lunda Norte, which hosts the 32nd Motorized Infantry Brigade.

In office for a month, the new commander of the RML, Lieutenant General David Cavanda, replaced Lieutenant General Carlos Sachimo, who retired due to age limits.
