Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA reiterated, in Caxito, during the presentation of its Political Agenda-2023 to the militants of Bengo, the commitment to build a more just, democratic and inclusive Angola, based on social morality, in the continuous fight against corruption and impunity .

At the event, the first provincial secretary of the party in Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, said that, for the success of the political work foreseen for this year, it will be necessary for the militants to assume a greater social role, using new methods of action in communities and among the masses, deepening the ability to approach.

The governor of the province, who is also governor, highlighted the ten strategic axes of the party’s agenda, which place the MPLA in the face of major challenges, including working harder and communicating better, improving the party’s organization and the way it is inserted in society, approaching governance populations, promoting and ensuring quality governance, with an emphasis on controlling the execution of public expenditure, in favor of development and benefiting the populations.

Among other objectives of the MPLA Agenda for this year, he also highlighted the promotion of policies that stimulate Angolan feelings in communities abroad.

For this, the first secretary of the “comrades” party in the province asked the militants to increase the efficiency of political action, always guided by greater creativity and innovation in the forms of mobilization of the masses.

Maria Nelumba also drew attention to the militants to do everything in order to help build an increasingly developed, democratic and inclusive country, which responds to the anxieties and aspirations of Angolans.

He made it known that the MPLA’s Political Agenda for 2023 brings the challenge of adopting new ways of organizing and functioning the party’s structures. “Today, we have a more open, more pluralistic, more demanding society, eager for greater inclusion and greater freedom of expression, where young people are the driving force behind major changes and the state of opinion”, he said at the event held on Wednesday. MPLA militants, sympathizers and friends, he also exhorted to undertake a thorough analysis of the party’s performance in the recent election, always bearing in mind the movement, dynamism and good work carried out by the party. eyes set on the challenges of the present and the future.

He reminded the militants that the party’s Agenda for this year constitutes an instrument of support to the Executive, in the sense of strengthening its actions, in favor of the development of the country. For the realization of the strategic axes, the MPLA should trigger structuring initiatives, among which the creation of internal conditions, which place the greater interests above the private ones, so that the party continues to intensely support the Executive in the materialization of the aims pointed out by the President João Lourenço.

“The political agenda of the party needs the courage and determination of the militants to face the great challenges that the MPLA has ahead”, concluded the first secretary of the comrades in Bengo.

José Tingão Pedro is the second provincial secretary

Under the presidency of the first secretary of the MPLA in Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, the 1st extraordinary session of the Provincial Committee of the party was held in Caxito, Bengo, which elected the militant José Francisco Tingão Pedro for the position of second provincial secretary , replacing João Mpilamosi Domingos, member of the Central Committee and deputy to the National Assembly.

At the age of 46, José Francisco Tingão Pedro was born in Caxito, has been a party member for 25 years and has a degree in Educational Sciences. He is also a first-year law student at the Catholic University of Angola (UCAN). Work on the election of the MPLA’s second secretary in Bengo, on Tuesday, was accompanied by the member of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and coordinator of the MPLA monitoring group for Bengo province, Carla Leitão Ribeiro de Sousa, who his intervention highlighted the importance of internal democracy for strengthening the party’s base structures.

Carla Leitão appealed to the newly elected candidate for humility, discipline, delivery and perseverance in his performance throughout his mandate.

“The province of Bengo has the responsibility of rescuing our lost militants and today it falls on its shoulders the link between the party structures and the masses”, he recommended.
