Africa-Press – Angola. The concerns of young people, namely access to social housing and employability, will have answers within the framework of the Executive’s programmes, admitted this Tuesday, in Benguela, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa.
The minister, whose tour of Benguela province began on Monday, left this guarantee Tuesday, after a meeting with leaders of youth and sports associations that served to listen to the main problems of the local youth.
Palmira Barbosa highlighted that the Angolan youth is so proactive that they want to see their concerns resolved and, as a result of that, the Government is working to respond to the needs of this social fringe.
Asked by journalists about the solutions given the range of concerns raised following the meeting, the minister declined to define a time horizon, replying that, after the tour of the provinces, “a memorandum will be drawn up to respond to all these questions”.
However, he said he was left with a very good impression of the avid way in which young people want to hear the solutions to their problems, namely access to housing, employability and material for sports practice.
In this sense, he clarified that the members of his entourage responded to several concerns raised, not only in terms of houses but also “of the fields close to the villages, which we do not have”.
Although she guaranteed that the Government would solve the problems presented, the minister made it clear that in time the concrete solutions will be known.
On the other hand, he also reassured youth and sports associations regarding the recovery of some sports infrastructures, such as stadiums and pavilions in Benguela province.
In his analysis, the consultation was “very enlightening” because some information that did not match the reality found on the ground was clarified.
