Africa-Press – Angola. The poor state of the road, which connects the seat of the municipality of Cacolo to the communes of Alto-Chicapa and Cucumbi, is making it difficult to meet deadlines for works in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
This is the construction of a school with seven classrooms, in the Alto-Chicapa commune, budgeted at 91 million kwanzas, whose work is at a physical execution level of around 90 percent and financial execution of 95% .
The T2 residence for teachers, which is being built in Cucumbi, has a physical completion of 80 percent and a financial completion of 90.
The director of the provincial study, planning and statistics office (GEPE), Belarmino Sandungo, said that the referred works are taking place at a very slow pace, a situation that has worried the authorities, since they should already be delivered last year (2022).
“The poor condition of the access roads where the works are located and the poorly prepared budget by those responsible for the works have caused several constraints”, he said.
He underlined that the poorly budgeted works are earthworks on the Saurimo/Sombo and Cacolo/Alto-Chicapa sections, which were currently included in the 2023 budget.
He explained that the works are part of the 91 projects included in the PIIM in Lunda Sul, with a physical execution of 95 percent and financial execution of 98. Of these projects, 85 have already been completed, with only six remaining to be concluded and that they are at a slow pace.
In Lunda Sul province, the PIIM has already consumed 16 billion and 572 million kwanzas, of the 16 billion and 824 million kwanzas made available for the projects
