Africa-Press – Angola. The National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) will launch, on 30 September this year, the tender for the attribution of oil concessions for the exploration of 12 blocks in the Onshore Basins of the Lower Congo and Kwanza, within the scope of the tenders 2023.
According to a publication by the National Concessionaire, 12 oil blocks will be put up for tender, four of which are located in the Onshore Basin of the Lower Congo (CON 2, CON 3, CON 7 and CON 8) and the other eight in Kwanza Onshore Basin (KON 1, KON 3, KON 7, KON 10, KON 13, KON 14, KON 15 and KON 19).
The tender is open to national and foreign entities, according to a pre-announcement from the ANPG that defines the deadline for the submission of proposals until November 4th of this year, 2023.
The 2023 tender aims to relaunch the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in onshore areas, reassess the existing oil potential in the said basins, mitigate the decline in production, through the increase in exploration activity and the discovery of new resources and encourage the participation of small and medium-sized companies oil companies, as well as promoting technological innovation and good governance practices.
Sessions for sharing information on the oil potential of the blocks and on the legal and contractual framework will be shared by the Concessionaire in the coming days.
Appointments for consulting technical data in face-to-face and virtual format (Data Showroom) are now available on the ANPG website.
In the 2020 tender, the ANPG put out to tender eight land blocks in the Lower Congo and Kwanza Basins.
These are the blocks of the Baixo Congo Basin (CON1, CON5 and CON6) and the Kwanza Basin (KON5, KON8, KON17, KON20 and KON9), the latter having seen its award canceled, but made available for a new assignment to the under the Permanent Offers Regime.
