Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, traveled today, Monday, to the Western province, in the Republic of Zambia, to participate in the 1st session of Regional Cooperation and Cultural Exchange Moxico-Occidental Province.
On the first of three days of work in that province located west of Zambia and east of Angola, Ernesto Muangala and his delegation will visit the headquarters of the local Provincial Government and the Royal Barotse Palace, installed in the District of Mongu, capital of the Western province .
The program that press had access to foresees, for the second day, the governor’s participation in a Business Exchange Forum.
At this event, Ernesto Muangala is expected to present the socio-economic reality of Moxico, the potential and areas open to private investment, in addition to the economic legislative facilities adopted by the Angolan Government in recent years, which encourage private investment.
The Forum will also discuss the political situation, security, education, health, trade, economy, tourism, culture, livestock, fisheries and agriculture.
The Forum ends with “Joint Declarations” by the rulers of Moxico and the West, respectively, Ernesto Muangala and Kapelwa Mbangweta.
The delegation of the provincial governor of Moxico returns to Angola on Wednesday.
Moxico’s tourist potential
With 223,023 km2 in extension, Moxico is the largest province in Angola, in terms of territory, and rich in water resources, given the numerous rivers that cross it, offering exuberant landscapes and waterfalls.
The tourist beauty of this province in eastern Angola is highlighted by the eccentric chanas flooded during the rainy season at the waterfalls of Chafinda (Chindela), in the municipality of Léua, in addition to those of the Luizavo River, in the Alto Zambeze, or those of Sacapinji and Tchimbinga , on the Kasai River, on the Luacano.

The largest province in Angola, inhabited by almost one million people, also has a natural reserve, the Cameia National Park, in the municipality with the same name (Cameia).
In addition to the Zambezi river basin, which floods it seasonally in a cycle that gave rise to a very specific fauna and flora, the Park is also home to animals such as lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, cheetahs and hippos. The reserve awaits wild repopulation and better access.
More potentialities
Rich in water resources, Moxico also has an intricate mineral wealth in its subsoils, according to preliminary studies by Planageo, while the climate and terrain conditions, due to the vast chana, favor the cultivation of rice, massango, reindeer and sweet potatoes. , cassava, corn, beans, tomatoes and peanuts.
The province has an eccentric dense forest producing quality honey for human, medicinal and animal consumption.
