Africa-Press – Angola. The Republics of Angola and the Czech Republic intend to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of investment, defence, trade and exchange of visits at the highest level.
The claim was expressed during a meeting between the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Radek Rubes, who is on a working visit to the country.
During the meeting, those responsible considered as a priority the establishment of a solid and effective cooperation, in the most varied domains.
In Angola, the Czech Secretary of State intends to meet with officials from the Ministries of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Economy and Planning, Industry and Commerce, as well as the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and the National Police.
Currently, the two countries are negotiating legal instruments such as the agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports, the memorandum of understanding on political consultations and the agreement on economic and industrial cooperation.
Angola and the Czech Republic established political-diplomatic and cooperation relations on January 1, 1993. In 2006, the two states signed a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation program for development.
