Africa-Press – Angola. After uncertainty due to the banning of the 11 de Novembro stadium, the Ministry of Youth and Sports confirms the property as the stage for Petro de Luanda in the first edition of the African Super League, in October and November.

According to a communication from the supervisory body, Friday, after being evaluated by technicians from the Angola Engineering Laboratory (LEA), the infrastructure is released when in the previous period it had been interdicted for works.

The stadium, with capacity for 50,000 spectators, was closed on the 20th of April due to the severe state of disrepair, resulting from poor maintenance since it was inaugurated on the occasion of the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2010).

The ministerial note underscores that specific repairs will be carried out within the framework of CAF recommendations to allow the stadium to host games in the African competition and, as soon as it is finished, it will be closed again for the comprehensive repairs that are necessary.

Remember, Petro de Luanda had until yesterday (5) to confirm its official property with CAF for the unprecedented experience at club level.

The eight best teams in the continental ranking will compete in the trial phase of the competition. In addition to Petro de Luanda, Wydad, African champion, and Raja Casablanca (both from Morocco), Mamelodi Sundows (South Africa), Simba from Tanzania, Esperance from Tunis (Tunisia) and Horoyq from Guinea are part of.

Exempt from air and accommodation expenses, supported by CAF, each team will receive a bonus valued at one million euros, with six million euros reserved for the winner.
