Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA first secretary of Longonjo municipality, Huambo province, Salomão Camalata, reaffirmed Sunday, that his party is in favor of an environment of peace and political stability, with a focus on the well-being of the population.
The politician was speaking at the end of the patriotic days held, in the last three days, by the Secretariat of the Executive Commission of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA in Huambo, overshadowed by the first secretary of this region of the Central Plateau, Lotti Nolika.
Salomão Camalata said that the MPLA is a party committed to political stability, common well-being and socio-economic development, hence the need to continue to mobilize all social groups, in particular young people for the responsible preservation of peace and promotion of national unity.
The politician informed that the patriotic days served to establish contacts between the party leadership, the militants and the population of Longonjo, in general, to better understand the difficulties and point out possible solutions for sustainable growth.
Among the concerns presented, he said, are the improvement of secondary and tertiary roads, with a view to facilitating the flow of agricultural products and, at the same time, stimulating trade in the communities.
Also noteworthy is the expansion of the electricity and drinking water distribution network, the increase in schools and the provision of various seeds.
The activities were carried out in several villages in the town hall and in the municipalities of Catabola, Chilata and Lepi.
The municipality of Longonjo, in the western corridor of Huambo province, has an estimated population of over 124,778 inhabitants, of which 22,990 are registered in 362 MPLA action committees.
