Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Cuando Cubango, José Martins, reaffirmed today, Thursday, in Menongue, the government’s continued commitment to working towards the social inclusion of vulnerable families, with a view to safeguarding their dignity and well-being.
José Martins reiterated this commitment at the Provincial Family Council, which took place under the motto “Social inclusion of families, well-being and dignity”, which brought together representatives of the nine municipalities of the province, delegates and directors of public institutions, members of civil society, among other guests.
José Martins referred that the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) constitutes a standard for solving family problems, as well as the program of Social Monetary Transfers “Kwenda”, designed by the Executive, with the support of the World Bank, which has the mission to support vulnerable citizens.
The government official recalled that all social facilities under construction within the scope of the PIIM rely on the incorporation of conditions that adapt to people with special needs, to facilitate their access, seek better and personalized service from public services and others.
José Martins vehemently denounced and condemned the degeneration of family values, whose negative points are based on the lack of respect and lack of reference and role models of parents for their children, escape from fatherhood and motherhood, early pregnancy, drug use, violation of minors at home, among other situations that disrupt the family fabric.
For this reason, he urged the participants in a particular way and the families in general, in the sense of not communing with practices of accusation of witchcraft to the child, being that this one must deserve attention and absolute priority of the adults, motivating them as the guarantor of the adult succession.
In turn, the director of the provincial office for social action, family and gender equality, Aida Rosalina Pedro Manuel, said that the council will reflect on the problems that affect families, around the moral, ethical and civic responsibility of each citizen. the light of legislation, as well as promoting the recovery of moral, ethical and patriotic values.
Three topics will be addressed on strengthening family skills, such as the rights and duties of families, gender reduction and the culture of peace, as well as the role of the family in protecting the environment.
