Africa-Press – Angola. The turnover generated by the 2nd edition of the Viana Agro-industrial Fair, which ended this Sunday in Luanda, was around 105 million kwanzas, informed the chairman of the board of directors of the organizing company C. Calas Angola, Carlos Calas.
The businessman gave this information at a press conference that marked the closing of the event held from the 11th to the 14th of May.
The event was attended by 80 exhibitors out of the expected 150 from different companies, from the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Bengo, Malange, Uige, Cabinda and Cuanza Norte.
On the occasion, Carlos Calas thanked everyone for their participation and announced that his organization in partnership with the local administration and the aforementioned companies would make the said Fair the second best in the province of Luanda.
At the end of the event, the National Director of the Institute of Industrial Development and Technological Innovation, Filomena de Oliveira, said that the municipality is the one with the most industrialization in the country and, consequently, the one with the largest population, hence the need for more companies to exhibit. your products.
He launched the challenge to all business exhibitors to join the Institution he directs to send the data of their productions and brands, in order to be introduced in the project that is being created on “Made in Angola”, which will have a digital catalog and not only, with the objective of divulging everything that the country produces.
The challenge was also made to the local administration, in the sense of mobilizing more entrepreneurs with a view to effective participation in fairs of this nature, as, he justified, Viana has a unique potential in the country.
He informed the exhibitors that the Angolan Government is responsible for reversing textile imports and training young people, with a view to diversifying the national economy.
Finally, he encouraged everyone to collaborate in holding the next Fair in 2024, where he foresees the effective participation of the potential that the municipality of Viana has, since, he recalled, there are 268 companies in the industrial center of this municipality alone.
After its final intervention, the company delivered diplomas of merit and participation of the exhibitors.
