Africa-Press – Angola. The pastor of the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church “Ministério Maranata”, in Cunene province, Cristino Catambue, urged families this Tuesday to play their role as communicators and social educators.
Regarding the International Family Day, marked on May 15, he considered that couples should play the role of father and mother, educator within the biological family and in society, towards the rescue of moral and civic values lost over time.
The religious leader argued that families are institutions created by God and, for their appreciation, it is necessary that they reinforce the necessary messages of union, love, respect and understanding.
In this process, the also sociologist, said that the woman is the pillar, precisely because of the ability she has to communicate and educate her children and to transmit the values and principles of life, as well as coexistence in society.
The pastor considered essential religious education, greater dialogue between parents, providing children with a healthy environment, so that they have good examples.
Currently, there is a marked level of family breakdown, with lack of food assistance, lack of social protection, parental flight, aggravated by globalization.
“With globalization and the frequent use of information technologies, dialogue within the family seems to be far away, because many are the homes where children have been acculturated and parents are not concerned with the transmission of teachings”, he emphasized.
Therefore, he referred that people now have the mission to recover and restore moral, ethical and civic values, so that society stabilizes and remains stable.
World Family Day was institutionalized by the UN General Assembly, and celebrated for the first time in 1994, with the aim of highlighting the importance of the family in the structure of the family nucleus and its relevance at the base of early childhood education.
