Africa-Press – Angola. The restructuring of the bases with a view to boosting them should exert influence, to make the internal environment of the party more attractive, developing criticism, contributing to the strengthening of democracy, defended Friday, in Saurimo (Lunda Sul), the first secretary of the MPLA Provincial Committee, Daniel Neto.

The politician made these considerations during the 3rd plenary session of the MPLA provincial committee, having reinforced the need for militants and different members to get involved in society’s moralization campaigns, denouncing acts and conduct that weaken the democratic state and the rule of law.

He stressed that the rank and file must support the efforts of the Executive, exercising a supervisory role of all public goods made available to the population, as well as the effectiveness of representative democracy.

“The ruling party has increased responsibilities in building the country and safeguarding its main fundamental values, aiming to respond to the numerous difficulties faced by the population”, he stressed.

Daniel Neto recalled that the MPLA, after winning the general elections, frustrated the expectations of those who at all costs aspire to power and dissatisfied sow untruths among the people, which is why the militants must redouble their vigilance.

With that, moments of great tension may eventually be experienced, as a result of the pressure that some groups tend to exert on the people, especially young people and the less enlightened, passing on false information about the country’s development.

For this reason, he appealed to the population to remain calm and focused, because only then will it be possible to materialize the actions contained in the governance program.

The III Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee of the MPLA in Lunda Sul is being accompanied by the coordinator of the follow-up group to the province, Manuel Augusto. JW/SC
