Africa-Press – Angola. Angola will host, for the first time, the international tournament “Mister Universe Africa”, in Bodybuilding and Fitness, in amateur and professional aspects, in both genders, to be disputed from 1st to 3rd of September, at the Centro de Belas Conventions, in Luanda.

This information was given Tuesday, in the country’s capital, by the delegate of the Angolan judges’ table, at the international tournament “Arnold Classic” in South Africa, Ariana Batalha, who took stock of the participation of the National Team in the competition , with a balance of 11 medals, seven gold, one silver and three bronze.

The also president of the Provincial Association of Bodybuilding and Fitness of Luanda, explained that Mister Universe Africa is a competition that the International Federation of the modality granted the license for Angola to organize every year.

For the event, according to the official who spoke on behalf of the president of the Angolan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Bráulio Martins, it is budgeted at 17 million kwanzas and 150 athletes are expected to participate.

Ariana Batalha, who is also a member of the executive council of the International Federation, for Central Africa, added that the event already has the institutional endorsement of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in terms of granting visas to delegations and other bureaucratic matters.

As for other aspects, he assured that they will have sponsors and partners of the sport, so that Angola has an organization of “excellence” and that many athletes in the country obtain their professional cards, since the competition will have this nature.

The bodybuilding selection returned from South Africa, on Monday, where it did the unprecedented thing, by becoming continental champion of the “Arnold Classic.

In the Elite Pro up to 95 kg Budybuilding category, Aquiles Epolua won a gold medal, Mário Faria “Santinho” also won gold, in the up to 95 kg amateur budybuilding, and bronze in the Elite Pro.

In Budybuilding Master, Pedro Pereira ‘Pitchu’, also gold, Welness Fitness, Helena Gonçalves (gold), Men ́s Physique Elite Pro, Samuel Nzage (gold) and DenilsonManuel, who won bronze.

In the Men’s Physique Amateur up to 1.77 m height, Rufino Muhongo won silver, Andrio Andrade (bronze), Mens Physique Master up to over 40 years old, Aedil Silva (gold), and in Classic Physique up to over 1.77 m m tall, Elizangelo Ribeiro (gold).
